Before entering the chat room at the bottom of the page,
please read the information below and the

Chat Room Instructions and Meeting Protocol pages carefully.

Al-Anon Meetings:
The WSO recognizes the potential for offering hope and comfort to families and friends of alcoholics through various electronic means; however, electronic meetings cannot replace the comfort and understanding one receives when they attend a face-to-face Al-Anon meeting.  Al-Anon offers a toll-free meeting line (888) 425-2666 weekdays between 8am-6pm EST.  An operator will be happy to help you find a meeting that is convenient for you. An important element to our recovery is to stop isolating ourselves.

Anonymity:
Online meetings are, in reality, open to anyone with access to the internet. There is no way of ascertaining or guaranteeing that all participants in an online meeting are Al-Anon members. Members should be cautious and avoid sharing identifiable personal information online. Pseudonyms or nicknames are used in the online world.
Members guard the anonymity of everyone else in the fellowships of Al-Anon and AA. This means not revealing to anyone – even relatives, friends and other members – the email addresses, user names or sharings from a meeting.
“Anonymity is a spiritual principle and cannot be used as a legal basis to shield criminal behavior, past or current. It is wise to remember that Al-Anon and Alateen meetings are not above the law. Members need to exercise care in sharing information that could require reporting to local, state, provincial, and national authorities.” - Service Manual, p 39

Unity:
Each member is responsible for keeping an electronic meeting focused on Al-Anon recovery and discussion of Al-Anon related topics. It is suggested that members avoid discussion or criticism of the alcoholic, gossip, or revealing intimate details of their problems.
In the spirit of unity and to uphold the spirit of our Twelve Traditions, it is suggested that only Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature (CAL) be used at meetings. The use or mention of outside publications is discouraged.

Literature:
The reading of Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature (CAL) is essential to growth in the Al-Anon Program. The Al-Anon World Service Office (WSO) publishes many wonderful books to aid in recovery. You can buy the books directly from the Al-Anon Online Store website: http://www.al-anonestore.org/source/Orders/index.cfm?section=home. It provides a full list and descriptions of literature available.

Meeting Email Contact: LivingAFG@mail.com.

For safety reasons, there are no electronic Alateen meetings at this time.
Please contact the WSO for updated information.
